In a bid to inculcate traffic sense among the public, the Noida Authority has decided to revive a six-year-old project to construct a traffic park on eight acres of land in Sector 108 along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

According to Authority officials, they have completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the park and final presentation of it is likely to be held this week. If it gets clearance, the construction work will be started by year-end. The entire work is expected to be completed within a year.

The park would be a platform for the Authority to hold meetings and organise workshops on safe driving. The proposed traffic park will also have a parking lot with the capacity of 200 vehicles and an auditorium of the same capacity.

Motor driving training institute, training centre for traffic police, RTO office, roundabout, flyover, bridge, foot over bridge, subway, underpass, bus stop, zigzag road, all types of traffic signals, museum, hospital, library, cafeteria, models of the Yamuna Expressway and other major roads will also be constructed in the park. Apart from this, entertainment facilities like amusement park for children, who will be taught about traffic rules and driving in a fun manner, will also be built in the traffic park. Authority has planned to spend Rs 50 crore on the entire project.

Sandeep Chandra, In-charge of Noida Traffic Cell, said that the move would play an important role in improving traffic management as vehicular volume is increasing by leaps and bounds these days. Beside this, it will also help in educating children about traffic rules with interesting technique.

“The proposed park will not only help in understanding the traffic system of both Noida and Greater Noida, it will also help in educating all,” said Chandra.
