The GMR Group on Monday announced that no parking fee would be charged at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad till mid-night of November 21, 2016 starting from Tuesday. The decision to temporarily suspend parking charges has been taken in consultation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) in the interest of convenience to passengers during the period.
Both the airports are operated by GMR-led consortiums Delhi International Airports (Pvt) ltd (DIAl) and GMR Hyderabad International Airports (Pvt) (GHIAl) respectively. GMR Group, through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, carries out community-based development initiatives at 22 different locations in the areas of education; health, hygiene and sanitation; empowerment and livelihoods; and community development.
