lauding former CBI director Joginder Singh for his skills and excellence, BJP Rajya Sabha member Chandan Mitra on Tuesday said his writings are prolific and are cherished all over the country because of the useful tips they share. He was speaking at the book release function of No Dream Too Big, authored by Singh. Mitra said, “The book is an excellent piece of writing which will be very useful to all Civil Services aspirants. The tips provided in the book make for a great reading and will inspire many.”
“There is no substitute for hard work,” was the theme of the 25th book by the former CBI director and eminent author Singh, which was released by Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Tuesday at the ongoing Book Fair in Pragati Maidan.
“It’s my pleasure and privilege to release the 25th book of my maternal uncle, Joginder Singh, whose contributions have enriched our lives for so many years,” Tewari said, adding that the best part about his books was that they are published in several other languages widening their reach.
Earlier, reminiscing his long association with Singh, Mitra said, “He is a learned man who has a passion for writing. He has been writing with our national daily, The Pioneer, nearly since its inception. His humility, even while serving as the CBI director, is a remarkable trait in him. I wish we keep coming back to encourage him with his new books time and again.”
Disclosing his writing secrets, Singh said he makes sure he writes diligently for at least an hour everyday. “It is important to be determined. There is no other way out than working hard,” he said while remembering his student days. “As a student I had written a dissertation of 200 pages but when I was asked to talk about it, I didn’t know a word I had written. But we all must learn and practice because there are no shortcuts in life and this book tells us exactly how to be determined and follow a path.” The ceremony was organised by Diamond Publications, the book publisher during the Delhi Book Fair here.
