The hearing on the bail application of Ryan School's bus conductor Ashok Kumar has been pushed till November 20 by a Gurugram court on Thursday in seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur murder case.
During the court proceedings, the CBI asserted that no incriminating details have been found in connection with Ashok Kumar’s involvement in the murder case. The CBI didn’t oppose Ashok's bail plea but said they have not given a clean chit to anybody.
CBI's counsel had stated that as of now they have not found any crucial evidence against the bus conductor. CBI sources also claimed that they don’t know on which ground the Gurugram police had arrested Ashok Kumar.
On Thursday, the court asked Gurugram Police Sub-Inspector Shamsher Singh, the Investigating Officer (IO), the grounds on which police had arrested the conductor. The IO remained quiet, sources added.
“CBI is not giving the clean chit to the Ashok. So we had argued before the court on which ground the bail plea of the conductor is allowed. The bail of the Ashok should not be given at any cost. The statement of the conductor is pointing out a big conspiracy in the Pradyuman’s murder case,” Pradyuman Thakur’s lawyer Sushil Tekriwal said.
The CBI, in its reply, stated that the probe is underway and if they found any evidence against the bus conductor necessary actions will be taken as per the law.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate Rajni Yadav also examined the CCTV footage of the crime scene. Only the CBI officials, Pradyuman’s father and lawyers and Ashok’s lawyers were allowed inside the courtroom. The arguments on the matter took around four hours.
“We had argued in the court that the police had pressured on Ashok to confess to his crime in which he was not involved. Even the agency didn't get any evidence against my client. The further argument in the case will be scheduled on November 20,” Mohit Verma counsel of Ashok Kumar, said.
He further said duration of footage of the two cameras examined by the magistrate. was around 20 minutes. But both the footage was not clear, he added.
The CBI told the court that forensic reports are still awaited and they have to go through with these reports as well.
