Mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) Adesh Gupta met Chief Secretary (CS) of Delhi Anshu Prakash and demanded funds as recommended by the 4th Delhi Finance Commission which amounts to Rs 1493.51 crore.
Gupta also apprised CS that the Delhi Government reduced the amount sanctioned in urban development sector from Rs 48,060.00 lakh to nil.
“Desilting of drains and adopting preventive measured are of utmost importance but it has not picked up pace due to shortage of funds,” Gupta said.
Chairman Standing Committee in NMC Tilak Raj Kataria said that the CS was apprised of the efforts taken by the corporation to enhance its revenue.
