North Delhi Municipal Commissioner Madhup Vyas on Thursday convened a meeting with senior officials of the Corporation to tackle the vector borne diseases and sanitation related problem.
Commissioner directed the officials concerned to ensure that no area should be left unattended while maintaining sanitation services. He also directed the Deputy Commissioners to conduct surprise inspections in their zones on daily basis.
He further directed the senior officials to conduct strict monitoring / supervision of sanitation staff to ensure that objectives of 'Swachh Bharat Mission'.
Vyas directed the DCs and Deputy Health Officers to ensure that all possible measures are taken to contain and prevent the number of dengue and malaria cases well in advance in order to avoid deaths from dengue and malaria.
He also said that strictest action will be taken against officials responsible for insanitary conditions. “Any dereliction of duty in this regard would invite immediate and harsh disciplinary action,” he added.
