Standing Committee Chairman of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Tilak Raj Kataria welcomed the interim orders of High Court, directing the Delhi Government to release payment to north and East Delhi Municipal Corporation as per 4th Delhi Finance Commission within a month so that Corporations can release salaries to its staff. "As per the 4th Delhi Finance Commission about Rs 1500 crore are due towards Delhi Government for North Corporation, Kataria said
He also said that once the payment is released, the financial condition of the Corporation will improve drastically and help in making timely payment of salaries to employees. It would also be able to clear its liabilities to much extent. "Most importantly, release of funds will help in pursuing its development projects," he said.
