A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 19-year-old youth, who lured her to play video games on his mobile phone in Nithari Village, Noida Sector-30 on Tuesday evening.
As the victim’s condition deteriorated, the accused fled from the spot. The girl was immediately rushed to the district hospital, where she is being treated and has been kept under observation.
Doctors said her condition is stable now. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Pawan (19) who is a resident of Almora, Uttarakhand.
Police said the incident reportedly took place around 6 pm. The minor girl was playing outside her rented house, while her parents were sitting there, said officials.
Police said the accused Pawan, who was familiar with the victim family, reached there and showed her video games in his mobile phone. He then lured her to play video games inside his room and then raped her, said police.
After a few hours, when she did not return back, the victim’s parents started searching for her daughter and she was later found in unconscious state in a pool of blood in the room of the accused. The police were informed that swung into action and arrested the accused late night.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Noida, Gaurav Grover said police have arrested the accused and he has been sent to judicial custody.
“The girl was sent for medical examination and the result in awaited. She is admitted in the district hospital. We have registered an FIR against the accused Pawan under Section-376 (Rape) and POCSO Act (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) in Sector-20 police station. The accused has been sent to judicial custody. Police are investigating the case,” the ASP said.
