With the rise in the number of cancer cases in India, the accuracy in diagnostics is the need of the hour. Keeping the urgency of accurate diagnostic services, Quest Diagnostics has started operating in the Capital with its advanced technology of “Next generation sequencing” technique where rather than being limited to a single or a few DNA fragments; this process extends across millions of reactions in a massively parallel fashion.
This advancement enables rapid sequencing of large stretches of DNA base pairs, producing hundreds of GIGA-bases of data in a single sequencing run.
“Quest Diagnostics has introduced testing to help detect hematological, or blood, cancers using next-generation sequencing and there are also many other tests in the pipeline,” said Mukul Bagga, the Managing Director of Quest Diagnostics.
Quest Diagnostics has expanded its marketing, service and logistics operation in order to provide cancer testing services to 25 metros and Tier-I cities across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad,Quest Diagnostics, headquartered in the United States, provides the services in India through its full service laboratory in Gurgaon, India and esoteric testing laboratories based in the United States.
Recently introduced services include testing to help detect hematological, or blood, cancers using next-generation sequencing, an advanced technique that identifies mutations and variants in an individual’s DNA or genome.
