New Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to open this month: Pankaj Singh

Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Wednesday announced that over 30 new Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs will be opened this month across the national Capital.

These centres aim to provide free and timely medical services, including diagnostic tests and essential medicines, within every Assembly constituency, said the minister.

Additionally, Singh also said that under the Ayushman Bharat Mission, the city is witnessing rapid progress in healthcare delivery.

The Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs are part of this plan, with a total of 1,139 such centres currently under construction.

Alongside infrastructure development, the Government has made significant progress in health card distribution under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana (VVY).

Singh said that 3,45,140 health cards have been issued so far, including 1,66,841 under the VVY scheme.

The VVY is specially designed for senior citizens, ensuring them access to free, quality healthcare and a sense of security in their later years.

The Vay Vandana Yojana has seen wide participation from Delhi’s elderly population. Of the total VVY cards, 1,24,215 were generated through self-registration, 11,284 by BIS operators, and 42,176 via Common Service Centres (CSCs), he added.

Singh noted that the health cards provide up to `10 lakh in cashless hospitalisation benefits, not only in Delhi but also in empanelled hospitals across India.

A total of 85 hospitals are now empanelled under the schemes, including 60 private and 25 government-run facilities, offering beneficiaries a broad choice of treatment locations.
