Jitender Kakkar, the 30-year-old nephew of former Delhi Police Commissioner TR Kakkar, was found dead near the railway tracks at Choma village, Gurgaon, on Thursday afternoon.
The body was spotted by an official from the Government Railway Police Force (GRPF). Jitender worked as a project manager with Bharti Airtel. The body bore visible injury marks; an autopsy revealed that the lesions were post mortem in nature.
According to police, Jitender — a resident of Sector 7 in Gurgaon — had gone out for a party at Bristol Hotel on Wednesday. He, along with his friend Amit, had left the hotel at around 11 pm. Jitender was behind the wheels and reportedly dropped Amit home and went missing himself.
“The police found his locked Swift car around 100 metres away from the spot where his body was discovered near the rail tracks. A bottle of liquor and his laptop were found inside the car. A post mortem report indicates that the deceased had received injuries to his forehead and chest, informed a senior official of GRPF.
“Jitender had come out with his friend Amit from the five-star hotel and dropped him home. But he never reached home himself. A team of forensics has collected samples from the spot. His friends are being questioned, his mobile call details scrutinised. The CCTV footage at Bristol Hotel is being looked at and so is his laptop. We are also trying to determine whether he suffered from any ailment or was depressed. We are not ruling out foul play,” a police official said.
