A woman was allegedly attacked with acid by her neighbours following a dispute, the police said on Tuesday. The victim, Piya, had an argument with her neighbours two days ago in Chitehra village, Dadri Police station in-charge Ram Singh said.
They were pacified by other neighbours and the matter was resolved. However, last night some youths threw acid on her. Piya suffered 12 per cent burns on her body and she alleged that her neighbours were behind the attack.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the case and the accused are on the run, the police official said.
In an another shocking incident, a person identified as Pravin was arrested for trying to rape a three-year-old girl in the Bisrakh area, the police said.
Praveen was caught by his neighbours who came to rescue of the baby girl after hearing her screams. They then handed the accused to the local police when they saw him trying to rape the minor. Police said a case has been registered and the accused has been placed under arrest.
