In order to ensure transparency and accountability in all its services such as health, education & sanitation, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has adopted to digital deliver services. Announcing the Budget 2018-19, NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar said, “This year, we have placed a positive budget before the council with limited expenditure.”
For the financial year 2018-19, the total receipts of budget estimate is Rs 3,935.91 crore, the chairman announced on Monday.
“NDMC is making continuous efforts towards computerisation of all departments and making its services online to reduce human interface and delivery time, for better services to its citizens and eliminate inefficiencies through increased transparency, accountability, responsiveness and monitoring”, the Chairman said.
“Our primary goal for the financial year is Mobile Governance, Smart city initiatives with robust infrastructure to ensure NDMC area a global smart city,” said Kumar.
Under the tag of “Smart Education” - the council has planned 13 Digital libraries, four tab-based classrooms, Multi-purpose play fields including football play ground for girls, schools for martyrs’ children and training of teachers have been planned.
In solid waste management plan, the council has started work for the mechanical sweeping of road, Static compactor, Biomethanation plant-waste to wealth, Reverse Vending Machine, litter picker machines and Segregation of waste at source.
With e-hospital concepts, NDMC hospitals has competed AIIMS and other government hospitals to protect essential data with cloud computing concept, “ It is matter of pride to announce that council’s Charak Palika Hospital has become the first hospital to secure data. From e-commissioning of tablets to registration of patients, everything is now possible under the concept of e -hospital, “ Kumar said.
NDMC has also started e- office concept which can help in time saving as file monitoring system , letter monitoring systems and tracking of physical files has becoming easy.
Besides this, Council has prepared a road map for online mutation of properties , online applications to book water tankers, connections and electricity. Solar roads , Solar tress , Solar poles and Bus quae shelters will be solar enabled to save electricity and energy, the Chairman said .
