Residents and traders living in the New Delhi area will not have to do the frequent rounds of the Government offices to get their building plans sanctioned.

In a major relief to its residents, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched a scheme to sanction building plans online. “It is an attempt to save time and energy. People will now be able to apply online for getting their building plans approved by the NDMC. The idea will also help making the system transparent,” said Jalaj Shrivastava, Chairperson, NMDC. Easy checking of approvals will also reduce possible corruption, he added.

The move will also help applicants to track their pending applications. “The online system will need a person to first go to our website. On the top right corner click on download forms. Then architecture and then the person can load whatever form is suited for him. later to track he will have to login to our website with a username and password. After that, the application needs to be uploaded with all the correct details. People will also be able to track the status of their forms,” informed a senior official.

Earlier the people had to physically submit their building plans to the NDMC.

“It used to take a lot of time and we had to do rounds of their office for it to get approved soon. let’s hope this helps and it gets approved faster,” said Ansuman Junega, a resident of Kidwai Nagar.
