New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has issued a circular asking its employees to join duty even after two staff of the civic body working in the civil engineering department at Palika Kendra tested Covid19 ) positive on Tuesday.
“It has therefore been decided that all departments will function in full strength (100 per cent attendance). Exceptions given to persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women etc will apply on permission to be given on submission of written request supported by substantiating medical papers,” he added However, ‘New Delhi Palika Electricity Distribution Employee Association’ has written a letter to the Chairman saying that it is injustice to call 1 er cent employee amid Corona pandemic. At least 130 staff of NDMC have been tested positive for corona positive till now.
A senior NDMC official said that 65.38 per cent corona affected employees have been recovered out of total 130 corona positive cases. At least 26 employees are home quarantined, four hospitalised, 85 recovered and eight death cases recorded in NDMC due to covid19 infection.
The official also said that the status of Covid report of seven employees is awaited. NDMC in its order has given relaxation to employees with co-morbidities and pregnant women etc.
