Mystery over actual turnout

With days to go before World Culture Festival kicks off, it still remains a mystery as to how many people will visit the cultural extravaganza on the Yamuna floodpains. While Sri Sri Ravishankar’s Art of living had claimed in its advertisements that around 35 lakh people will attend the grand event, it had applied for permission for the event from the Delhi Development Authority claiming that only 3.5 lakh to 5 lakh people will attend the event.

Moreover, Art of living’s lawyer told the National Green Trubunal on Tuesday that only around 2 lakh to 3 lakh people will attend the event.

To add to the chaos, while Art of living had applied for the permission for the event to be held on 24.44 hectares, construction for the venue is spread over 50 to 60 hectares on the western bank of Yamuna.
