The AAP on Thursday accused the BJP-ruled municipal Corporations of sending notices to shopkeepers asking them to deposit the conversion charges. The notices are being served even after the MCDs claimed to have waived off conversion charges, said AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj.
Bhardwaj said that it is clear that the BJP ruled MCDs are trying to harass the shopkeepers by threatening them with the sealing of shops in case they fail to deposit conversion fees. He said that before the election BJP put up posters thanking PM Modi for waiving off conversion fees and now they are back to extort money from shopkeepers.
“The BJP ruled North MCD collected Rs 1007 crores from conversion charges and there is no account of this money and just now just Rs 1.55 crore is remaining. The BJP does not want the Delhi assembly committees to look after these matters to hide such corruptions,” he said.
