A 30-year-old woman sustained critical injuries in an acid attack in Ghaziabad. The incident occurred on Friday morning at Crossings Republik, a newly developed township under Vijay Nagar police station.
The police said the married woman was returning from her work around 8.30am when two motorcycle-borne men threw acid on her near gate no 7 of the township and fled away.
The woman sustained burn injuries on left side of her face, chest and arm. Some passerby informed the police. Police rushed the victim to a nearby Government hospital.
Doctors said she sustained about 30 per cent burn injuries on the left portion of her body and her condition was stable.
Meanwhile, police said that the accused has identified as lakhan Singh, who works as a lPG cylinder supplier.
SP City Shiv Shankar Yadav said, “lakhan had proposed her to marry him, which she declined. Angry over her denial, he threw acid on her. However, the motorcycle driver has yet not been identified. Manhunts are on.”
