There is no relief for a 'naughty' 14-year-old boy who was left to fend for himself by his mother — who works with the Ministry of Finance (Government of India) — in April this year.
When asked whether she would allow his son, who was reduced to living in a park near his house in lodhi Road complex and begging for food from people in the locality, she told The Pioneer that she has asked the boy to go to his father's house.
“I have not kept in touch with my first husband ever since we separated and I don't think he is alive now but his relatives and other family members live in Bangalore and I have given my son their address and now he can go there,” said the boy's mother.
She further said she has also told the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) that rescued the boy to send her son to her former husband's native place but she has no idea as to who all are there to take care of him.
Meanwhile, after an FIR was registered at the lodhi Colony police station regarding the matter, the investigating officer had come over to her house to verify the matter.
“ When we went to verify the matter, she said her son was a menace and that he was danger to her two daughters, aged 9 and 12 years, which she had from her second husband,” said a senior
police official.
Police said the boy after being rescued by CWC after which he was admitted to Bal Kalyan Samiti, an Ashram for abandoned children.
