Modi's Man Friday chairs Delhi BJP meet ahead of polls

The Delhi BJP witnessed its first warm-up session in the run-up to the Assembly polls, on Tuesday, as the saffron party’s national president Amit Shah convened his first official meeting of the State unit.

As Shah directed the party cadres to focus intensively on booth-level preparations, he also warned the State unit of ensuring a sweeping victory as the poll results of the national Capital would have a significant impact on States like Bihar, which will be going to polls later in 2015.

In the meeting which went on for over two hours, Shah advised the 175 senior leaders, MPs, MlAs and councillors present that the party should fight as an Opposition, rather than solely focusing on what the BJP has achieved at the Centre. Reportedly, Shah has instructed the 130 leaders from across the party to look into election preparations, besides assigning Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy the task of deploying to 335 MPs to look into polling booths.

“Each MP has been asked to take care of 10 polling centres while some Union Ministers shall hold five meetings on a routine basis,” informed a source who attended the workshop.
