Terming nationalism pitch by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "fake", Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, attacked him and asked which "nationalist Prime Minister" gets the Chief Minister of the national Capital "attacked".
The AAP leader said Modi's nationalism is fake, it is 'pseudo-nationalism' based on an illusion. He said he was targeted because he had questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "relationship" with Pakistan." Kejriwal said, referring to his Saturday's roadshow in New Delhi constituency during which he was slapped by a man.
"Do you think that a Prime Minister whose Government has a direct responsibility to ensure the safety and security of a Chief Minister and who instead gets the Chief Minister attacked can be a nationalist? I want to tell the traders that you are educated and responsible. Do not fall for this illusionary trap, come out of it and see the reality," he said.
Highlighting the plights of traders, Kejriwal said in last few days he has been meeting several traders and their organisations across Delhi. "The traders are very unhappy as their businesses being sealed but the centre did nothing to solve their plight. Adding fuel to fire, it also introduced Goods and Services Tax without any planning. These policies further ruined the economy and affected the interest of traders," he said, while appealing traders to vote for the AAP to get the sealing problem solved.
He also alleged that thousands of notices are being sent to traders with an aim to extort money from them, Modi Government has unleashed tax terrorism on traders, he said. "I want to assure the traders across Delhi that you give all the seven Lok Sabha seats to us and I will ensure that there will be no sealing in Delhi. You strengthen our hands, we will ensure justice," he said.
The AAP supremo said Modi claims that Indian forces entered Pakistan and killed terrorists there, but his Pakistani counterpart wants him to win the upcoming elections. "Modi ji has secret relations with Pakistan, deep ties, internal ties and when questioned, he gets the chief minister attacked. I say this publicly so I get attacked," he said.
Delhi goes to polls in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 12. The results will be announced on May 23.
