The Pincipal of Modern School, Meenakshi Sahni, on Thursday said following the ugly spat among students, it has been decided to ban mobile phone on the school campus completely. She said that the parents and school authorities have jointly decided on certain steps which would be implemented soon.
“Mobile phones were earlier allowed on compassionate grounds but now will be strictly banned inside the premises. We have also verified the age criterion for the children to join various social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp and have also educated the parents about the same,” said Sahni. At the same time, the Principal urged that the parents should also monitor their children’s activities after school. Sources at school also revealed that students who just stood and watched later tendered apology along with their parents. However, an anxious parent said, “Teachers will have to be cautious and pay attention to such students. In certain cases the person who is bullying later becomes the victim and also bullying is not always done in a harsh manner but subtly as well in some cases. Teachers will have to be cautious and pay attention to such students.”
