There is now a smarter way to lodge complaint against errant autorickshaw and taxi drivers in the Capital. The Delhi Government’s Information and Technology department has developed a mobile application to keep track on rash autorickshaw and taxi drivers of the city. The significant part of this device is that it will record good as well as the bad traits of the drivers and therefore good drivers will get the advantage of this device. Commuters can rate auto and taxi drivers through this mobile application whether one should use it or not.
After successful implementation of the application, the data will be provided to Transport Department and Delhi Police to check errant auto and taxi drivers. In a related development, lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung will launch the Mobile Application and Upgraded Website of Delhi Traffic Police.
Delhi Government’s Information and Technology Department’s System Analyst Santulan Chaubey told The Pioneer that this mobile application is likely to be put on trial run from Thursday. The application will be launched after adequate publicity to make Delhiites aware about this new initiative of the Government.
“This software will be uploaded on the Google to allow its access to the common people. Delhiites will be able to access the data about the past behavioural pattern of any auto and taxi driver by feeding the registration number of concerned vehicle in android phone. If the information gives positive feed back then the commuter will be able to board the auto safely. If the feed back is negative, the commuter will exercise his discretion to say firm no to such drivers. Thus, with simple application of this software, lakhs of commuters will be able decide their journey only on vehicles having dependable drivers,” he said.
Delhi E Governance Society of the Information and Technology department has developed a mobile application to keep a watch on rash behaviour of auto and taxi drivers of this city.
“But the delhiites need to be vigilant to feed their opinion into the software by their android phone so that large numbers of people get to know about the drivers behaviour and decide accordingly,” said Chaubey.
