A 22-year-old woman, who is a call centre employee, has been missing from Noida for the past 10 days. On her family’s complaint, Noida police had registered a case of kidnapping at Sector 20 Police Station. But, on Monday it was altered to a case of abduction. According to police, the victim, Supriya, is a resident of Ashok Nagar in Delhi and is employed with a call centre in Noida’s Sector 9. She went missing from her workplace.

“Supriya last came to work on October 28. She has not reported to work since then and neither has she returned home. According to the victim’s family, she was depressed since the man she loved was getting hitched. She seemed disturbed about the breakup,” said Shivram Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Noida.

However, police is yet to find any concrete evidence on Supriya’s whereabouts. “Initially, we had registered a missing person’s diary but have now changed it to a case of abduction on Monday, November 4. We are trying to find out where she was on the day of her disappearance. We are also questioning her friends, colleagues and her former boyfriend,” said Yadav.
