The horror of sexual assaults refuses to go away from the National Capital. Two girls, one a 15-year-old, were allegedly raped by their neighbours in south Delhi in two separate incidents.
The first incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon, when a 17-year-old boy forced a minor into their slum's common toilet in Kotla Mubarakpur and raped her.“Afterwards, he threatened her with dire consequences if she informed anyone, and fled. The victim went home and told her parents, who informed the police. The juvenile has been detained from his residence,” said a senior police officer said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where rape was confirmed. A case under Sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation) and several Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) was registered against the juvenile at Kotla Mubarakpur Police Station.
In the second incident, 21-year-old Rahul Singal was arrested in Neb Sarai for allegedly raping his neighbour on the pretext of marriage.
