Three men were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and gang-raping a minor girl on Monday night in Galand village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Masuri Police station.
The girl was abducted from her house, but none of the neighbours tried to rescue her even though she cried for help. The girl was dumped at her doorstep after being brutally gang-raped. The victim is a Class 10 student.
The police said that at about 12.00 pm on Monday, when the entire family of the victim was fast asleep, three goons of the area barged into their house and abducted the girl. The girl shouted for help, but due to fear, no one could muster courage to come forward to rescue her.
The girl’s father rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against the criminals.
Police registered an FIR and conducted raids to nab the culprits and rescue the girl, but in vain. In the mean time, the goons dropped the victim near her house. The victim’s father took her to the police station as well, where the victim said that she was gang-raped by three goons whom she identified and named too. She was taken to MMG Hospital for medical examination.
The perpetrators of the dastardly crime were also arrested from their hideout. “One of them has been identified as Dharmendra. Investigation is on,” said SP Rural Jagdish Sharma.
