A minor boy disemboweled his alcoholic father, who, in an inebriated state, had attacked his mother in West Delhi here, police said on Monday. The Class IX Government school student has been apprehended.
The incident happened on Monday noon when Babu Singh, an autorickshaw driver, was stabbed to death by his son in their Rohini residence.
Police said a drunk Babu Singh had attacked his wife over some petty issue.
This infuriated the boy who fished out a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his father several times.
The neighbours informed police and rushed Babu to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. “A case of murder was registered at KN Katju Marg police station. The boy was apprehended and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and sent to a correction home,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer district) Vikramjit Singh.
The incident took place around 10 pm on Sunday in Sardar Colony area of Sector 16 in Rohini. Babu Ram came home drunk to his wife and three kids. A habitual drinker, he started abusing his wife who made a distress call to PCR. The couple was carted away to KN Katju Marg police station where they were counselled and let off. Bristling, Babu Ram came home and tried throttling his wife.
Fearing his mother’s death, their 15-year-old son stabbed his father repeatedly in the abdomen with a kirpan. The cries of his bleeding mother alerted the neighbours.
A search by police for the boy led them to the neighbourhood gurdwara in the early hours
of Monday.
