In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old was subjected to gang-rape by three minors and then abandoned in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. The girl was also subjected to sodomy. Medical examination of the victim confirms the assault. A case has been registered under relevant Sections under the guidance of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
According to police, the incident took place on Thursday evening when the victim — a resident of JJ clusters — was playing near her house. The three minor boys between the ages of 7, 10 and 12 years lured her on the pretext of giving her mangoes. They took her to a secluded place near the jhuggi and then raped her. The boys have also been accused of indulging in unnatural sex with the girl and then abandoned her, said a police official. The victim came home in a state of shock, her parents came to know about the incident and informed the police on Sunday, following which a case was registered at Paschim Vihar police station under Section 376D of IPC and
various Sections of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police are yet to record her statement under Section 164 of the CrPc. The child is currently undergoing counselling sessions. The juveniles will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of West district.
