A city court on Wednesday disallowed the registration of a second FIR against law Minister Somnath Bharti in the midnight raid in the intervening night of January 14-15 and directed the police to investigate the matter as a part of the first FIR against him. The order came after a Ugandan woman sought a second FIR against him for misbehaving with her and other African women.
Metropolitan Magistrate Chetna Singh, however, said that the Ugandan woman be made co-complainant in the first FIR lodged by police on January 19 as she is also the victim of the same incident. “It is clear that the allegation of the victim will be investigated. Separate FIR will create confusion during the investigation,” the court said, adding, “I disallow the registration of separate FIR in same incident on separate application.”
