After a two-month period, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has restored its normal train operations at Noida City Centre Metro station from Tuesday. The station was partially closed as services from Botanical Garden to City Centre station was shut since September 13 due to repair work of Metro pillars. Services were resumed at 8.05 am on Tuesday.
According to DMRC officials, the repairs included concreting and stabilising the pillars of the station. The defects were highlighted by a high-level committee constituted by DMRC during a routine inspection. Officials said that the repairs are now being wrapped up and the station is fit for passenger services.
Around 70,000 commuters had to face the problem due to repair work. Not only was the movement of Metro affected but repair work had considerably slowed down traffic at City Centre junction. Traffic police had barricade a section of the road where repair work was being undertaken by Metro officials.
