Metro Services were delayed due to technical snag in the Red Line running between Rithala to Ghaziabad. It has become a daily issue for the past 10 days as days after the Yellow Line disruptions, the services once again affected were for nearly two hours between Shahdara to Dilashad Garden sections of Red Line on Wednesday, putting thousands of commuters in a chaotic situation in the peak official hours.

Till the services were resumed to normal, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) ran services temporarily between short loops from Rithala to Shahdara and Dilashad Garden and from Shaheed Sthal and Dilshad Garden. Feeder bus services were provided between Shahdara and Dilshad Garden.
“Due to an OHE (overhead electricity) issue on the Dilshad Garden-Shahdara section, train services were affected. As a result, trains were temporarily run in two separate loop between Rithala and Shahdara 2) Between Shaheed Sthal and Dilshad Garden. Further. There will be single line train movement between Shahdara and Dilshad Garden,” said the DMRC official.
Only one station Jhilmil falls on the Shahdara and Dilshad Garden section. The DMRC had posted on Twitter around noon time that services were affected and trains were run on two separate loops. Later in another tweet, the DMRC said, “Normal services resumed at 1:45pm”.

The frustrated passengers who got late to their work and did not reached their destination on time took the twitter to express their anger against DMRC. The passengers also complained that the metro officials did not made any announcement on the metro station to aware the passengers about the delay and such issue.
“No announcement till now. Customer care has no information. What kind of operation/management is this? ,” tweeted A. Basur traveling on the Line. “It’s already taken more than half an hour from NBA to Shyam park station,” posted another passenger Mukul Sharma.
