Delhiites on Wednesday got some respite from the biting cold with the minimum temperature settling at 8.6 degrees Celsius, witnessing a rise of 4 degrees, even as 103 trains were affected due to fog.

However, flight operations were smooth.  “The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 8.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal. Moderate fog was witnessed in the morning,” a MeT official said.  The visibility recorded at 8.30 am was 1,500 metres, while the humidity was 81 per cent, he added. According to a Northern Railway official, operations of 103 North-bound trains were affected due to fog.

“While 93 trains were running behind their schedule, two were cancelled and eight rescheduled,” he said. The airport authorities, however, said that the operations were normal and no flights delayed. The weatherman has predicted a clear sky ahead. “The maximum is likely to settle at 21 degrees C,” the official said. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature settled a notch above the season’s average at 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
