The Juvenile Justice Board on Monday reserved its order against the juvenile who allegedly mowed down the 32-year-old business executive Siddhartha Sharma with his speeding Mercedes car on April 4 in north Delhi's Civil lines area.
The JJ board will on Tuesday pass its verdict on the juvenile's bail or detention. The juvenile had surrendered to the police a week before, following which he was sent to a juvenile justice home.
According to sources, during the court hearing on Monday, juvenile's father Manoj Aggarwal and his wife accompanied their son and pleaded the Metropolitan Magistrate for granting mercy to their son.
Meanwhile, their lawyer tried to shift the onus of the untoward incident on the deceased by presenting their part of CCTV footage and stating that it was Siddhartha's fault while crossing the road.
If the juvenile is found guilty, he will be punished as per the amended juvenile justice act and can be sent to Tihar Jail for ten years.
