A total of 12,0515 illegal banners and hoardings were removed by the 24 teams of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in the past two days after the implementation of the model code of conduct for the civic body polls.
In all the 12 administrative zones of the Corporation, the teams have removed 120515 banners out of which 49774 were taken out on Sunday and 70741 were removed on Saturday, said an MCD senior official. According to the report released by the civic body, 4609 banners and hoardings were removed in Rohini Zone, while 2501 were taken out in Civil Line Zone.“The teams have removed 8579 banners and hoarding in Najafgarh Zone which is the highest, while the City SP zone had witnessed the lowest removal of poster 1820,” it stated.
