Martyrs’ Day: CM pays tribute to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid tribute to freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on Shaheed Diwas at the Delhi Legislative Assembly. “Every Indian will forever be indebted to these immortal heroes of the country for their supreme sacrifice. No party or government worked towards realising Bhagat Singh or Babasaheb’s dreams in over 70 years since India gained independence,” he said.

“Government offices in Delhi and Punjab will now solely bear displays of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Babasaheb Ambedkar, not of any party leaders or ministers. I appeal to the BJP to do the same in their party offices as well.

The Delhi Government has put an end to dirty politics of corruption and discrimination, and introduced an honest model for progress in education, health, electricity, water and roads,” he added. Paying tribute to eminent freedom fighters, the Chief Minister said, “Today, the entire country is celebrating Shaheed Diwas, a prominent day of martyrdom in the history of the Indian freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh laid his life down for the country at a very young age, made the supreme sacrifice, and he has been the heartbeat of every young Indian ever since. The youth of the country has drawn a great deal of inspiration from his life and his ideals over the past 100 years,” he said.
