The Delhi Police rescued a girl, who was kidnapped six years ago by a man in Dwarka area. Police on Wednesday said the man, Faujdar, has been arrested. In 2012, he had kidnapped the girl, then 16. Years later, police managed to rescue her and found that she got married to Faujdar and is mother to two children.
Shibesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) said, "We have registered a case of kidnapping at Dwarka North police station in December 2012 regarding the abduction of a 16-year-old girl, on the complaint of her father."
The DCP said, "The name of the accused, Faujdar, cropped up during investigation but all the attempts to arrest him were fruitless.
“After the FIR was registered, Faujdar was declared a proclaimed offender in the case by a court on November 30, 2013." In a drive to trace kidnapped and missing persons, launched by the Dwarka police district, a team delved out old cases and managed to trace the accused to Uttar Pradesh. Faujdar was arrested from Uttar Pradesh and the kidnapped person was recovered.
