A 45-year-old man strangled his wife to death over domestic issues and allegedly being in an inebriated condition, he dozed off after the murder on Monday night. The next day when he woke up, the man, Sanjay Sharma was ridden with guilt, due to which he consumed poison and went over to the Baba Haridas Nagar Police Station where he confessed to killing his wife. Within a few hours, the man also died of poisoning. Police said that the incident reported in Outer Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar area on Tuesday came to light when Sanjay came to the police station and confessed to killing his wife. After telling the police what had transpired on Monday night, Sanjay fell unconscious. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. A senior police officer said that the incident took place at the Agrasen Park area when a heated argument took place between Sanjay and his wife Babli (42).

“The man, Sanjay Sharma claimed that he had killed his wife. When we reached the spot, we found the woman lying on the floor of the rented house.

Sanjay informed the police that he and his wife used to  fight over trivial issues very often. Investigators said that the couple had two children. “Family of Sanjay alleged that he and his wife used to fight often, since their early days of marriage. Even after their two children were born, they still had problems. Due to this, parents of Babli took their two children with them to Bhopal.

Post this, the couple started living in Agrasen Park. Sanjay used to work as a RTV driver. Their families claimed that recently, the couple had started drinking. Due to which, they fought over issues like who would clean the house or who would cook,” said a senior police officer.

Police said that they had informed the families of Sanjay and his wife. After post mortem, bodies of the couple have been handed over to the family.
