A 45-year-old man after stabbing his wife to death went to Mangolpuri police station where he confessed to the crime on Saturday morning. Police said that he had a blood stained knife with him when he came to the police station. The accused has been identified as Sameer and is an alcohol addict and unemployed for a while. This led to frequent fights between him and his 40-year-old wife Sabana, police said. The couple has two children aged 21 and 17 years old. According to Parvinder Singh, the DCP, Outer district, police received a police control room (PCR) at 7.47 am about the murder and the meantime, accused Sameer came at Mangolpuri police station along with a blood stained knife and informed that he had killed his wife by stabbing her with the knife.

“During enquiry, it was found that injured Sabana was already taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital by her neighbours where she was declared brought dead,” said the DCP.

“On the statement the deceased’s daughter, who is one of an eyewitness, a case of murder was registered and the accused man was arrested,” said the DCP.

“Sameer told police that his wife quarrelled with him for his drinking habit and for not doing any job. She has also not allowed him to enter the house since last one month. Therefore, he considered her responsible for his miserable homeless life, and to take revenge he killed her today (Saturday),” said the DCP.
