A 27year-old man was stabbed to death in a Dakshinpur Madras temple in south-east Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar by three of his associates on Thursday. The victim was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he succumbed to his injuries. The police said the accused have been arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-East district, Romil Baniya said the deceased has been identified as Permal, who is a native of Kerala and used to wash cars.
Meanwhile, the accused have been identified R Shekhar, R Sriniwas and R Nateshan. The police said the accused had some tiff with Permal since a year back.
On Thursday, Permal went to the temple with his wife to pray when he encountered the accused and they had a heated verbal argument. “After a while, the accused started hitting Permal and when the victim protested back, the accused started stabbing him with knives,” said another police official.
Permal ran out of the mandir, bleeding profusely and collapsed near a footpath. However, no one in the vicinity came to help him. Meanwhile, the accused, who lives close to the mandir, absconded from the spot.
Permal’s wife immediately called the police and a PCR team reached the spot and took the victim to the Trauma Centre where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The police tracked down the criminals and arrested them on Friday morning after a case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered. Permal is survived by his wife and two kids.
