A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the stairs' grill at National Capital's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital.
The victim has been identified as Bittu Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar.
According to Atul Kumar Thakur, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South District On Friday at 6.16 am, police received information regarding suicide in the emergency ward of AIIMS hospital.
"During enquiry, it was found that Tiwari was undergoing treatment from last five years. He was admitted in the AIIMS on May 25 for the treatment for blood clotting," said the DCP.
"He committed suicide by hanging from the stairs’ grill at second floor. His mother and sister were already in the hospital. The body will be handed over after the autopsy," said the DCP.
