Robbers gunned down an accountant of a private firm here Monday and looted Rs 18 lakh the man was carrying to deposit in a bank, police said. The daring crime took place near the State Bank of India branch on Railway Road. The dead man was identified as Sandeep, 35.
Sandeep, who worked for Sanjay Trading Co., a distributor of edible oil, came out of his office in Kirtanwali Gali with a bag containing Rs 18 lakh in cash around 10 am, police said. He was headed to the bank when three robbers on a motorcycle stopped him.
