A man died while another was injured when their scooty was hit by a speeding car in west Delhi's Ranhola area, police said on Thursday. According to a senior police official, Satish (25) and his relative Rajesh (45) were returning from Khyala to their homes in Ranhola when their scooty was hit by speeding car on October 3.

A passerby immediately made a PCR call around 10.50 pm about the accident. Ambulance and a team of police reached the spot and both of them were rushed to the nearby hospital where Satish was declared brought dead, the official said.

Rajesh is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital and his condition is stated to be critical and he hasn't been able to record his statement, said the official.

The passerby, who made the PCR call, will be questioned to know the sequence of events and gain clues to the driver who hit the duo's scooty, the official added.

There were no helmets recovered from the accident site which means that the duo was riding the scooty without a safety gear, said police, adding that Satish and Rajesh used to work in a stitching unit in Khyala and used to commute together.
