A 30-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in South-West Delhi’s Dwarka area on the intervening night of Thursday. It appears the man was strangled first and then bludgeoned to death. His identity could not be established till now.
According to police, a PCR call was received around 1.50 am about a body lying in an empty area in Dwarka’s Sector 16 area. A passerby spotted the body lying inside the bushes and informed police. The corpse could not be identified as it had multiple injury marks on it. The body has been sent for autopsy.
Prima facie, it appears the man was robbed and then murdered as no document, wallet or a mobile phone was recovered from the area where his body was found.“He had ligature marks and injuries on his face, torso and limbs. We are asking the locals and are trying to establish his identity. Some locals claimed he worked as a driver, however, this is yet to be verified,” said a police officer.A case under appropriate sections of IPC has been registered.
