A 20-year-old woman was murdered by her husband on Saturday morning in North Delhi’s Burari area when she refused to give him Rs 2,000. The accused identified as Shanu (25) was arrested. The deceased, Pinki, and Shanu had a love marriage three years back.
“Shanu battered Pinki’s head in the bathroom with a brick to death. He was found in the bathroom next to Pinki, who lay in a pool of blood,” said a police official.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning. It was their son’s first birthday. Pinki’s relative laxmi had also come to their house. The same night Shanu asked Pinki to give him Rs 2,000. She refused to give the money. A heated argument broke out and Shanu threatened to kill her if she did not give him the money. laxmi who was also present in the house told police that Shanu returned home late night and went to his room to sleep. Around 4 am she heard screams and rushed to the bathroom where she saw Shanu repeatedly hitting on Pinki’s head with a brick. laxmi then informed the neighbours who in turn called the police.
