South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to deploy adequate number of manpower for maintaining cleanliness of its toilets, urinals, community toilets and complex blocks (CTCs).
SDMC Mayor, Narender Chawla said that the need of additional manpower was felt necessary since the public toilets and CTCs will now remain open for all seven days of week instead of six days.” It has also been decided to hire manpower services (unskilled) for above stated toilets and urinals,” he said.
A senior SDMC official said that presently 300 personnel have been deployed for the purpose. “It is decided that the number will be increased from present 300 to 450,” he said.
The official further said that the additional manpower is required keeping in view of Swachh Sarvekshan under Swachh Bharat Mission.
