Investigations into the mysterious death of a 21-year-old domestic help employed at a retired IAS officer’s house indicates it was not a murder but a case of ‘culpable homicide’.
The incident had taken place in East End Apartments in Ashok Nagar on Thursday. Police suspect the role of a domestic help employed in the household. The East district police had registered a case of murder on Thursday and had arrested Girish, the domestic help on charges of murder. The accused was put through sustained interrogation and he reportedly confessed. Girish told investigators that he did not kill her but was trying to prevent her from ending her life. Girish shared intimate relations with the maid. The family members of the IAS official objected to the liaison as the woman had started making advances openly.
