The Delhi Congress on Friday alleged the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of being ignorant towards the plights of Dalit community, saying that  soon a ‘Maha Panchayat’ will be organised across the country to protest against apathy of both the Centre and the State Governments in taking action against the perpetrators.

Delhi Congress unit president Anil Kumar said that Congress has always stood by the Dalit community and will continue to stand by in their struggles.

Addressing the media, party vice-president Jaikishan said that the dalit community will boycott the AAP and the BJP MLAs as no one raising their voice against crime particularly cases of sexual assaults happened with dalit girls.

Citing an incident, Jaikishan said that a 14-year-old girl from Sultanpuri was kidnapped three months ago, but despite filing an FIR against the criminal involved in the crime, police did not take any action

The Congress leader further alleged that AAP MLA from Sultanpur Mazra shielded rapists and forced a Gujarati Dalit girl, who was “raped” by his PSO Irfan to withdraw her complaint.

The Congress leader also said that the police detained her in the police station for over five hours, though an FIR has been filed against Irfan. Jaikishan said that assaults on women have gone up manifold ever since the Kejriwal Government came to power in Delhi.
