The magisterial enquiry report into the death of 19-year-old motorcyclist, Karan Pandey, who was allegedly shot dead by a 42-year-old inspector Rajneesh Parmar on the intervening night of July 27 and 28 in the lutyens’ zone area, has punched holes in the police’s version of events. However, the Delhi Police on Friday said that they are yet to receive the magisterial enquiry report.
Trashing the statement by inspector Rajneesh Parmar that he opened fire in retaliation to the stone pelted by Pandey at the PCR van, the magistrate said that, “Chief Medical Officer Dr Kiran Negi of RMl Hospital did not find any brick or stone dust in the hands of the deceased (Pandey) otherwise he would have sent the same for “hand wash” analysis as per procedure.”
The report also mentioned “the ballistic report is silent about the path, angle and trajectory of the bullet” fired by Parmar and hence, it couldn’t be established “how the bullet which was aimed at the tyre of the bike has hit the upper back/mid line of the deceased.” Meanwhile, the police said that Rajneesh Parmar, who was accused of opening fire at Karan, is still posted as an executive in the PCR in New Delhi circle.
