low visibility clouds plans of air passengers

The onset of the fog is proving to be a nightmare for air travellers.

The passengers complain that like every year the airlines are providing limited information on the revised flight schedules. Passengers, who had checked-in online, said they had no idea about the cancellation of their flights. Due to a large number of morning flights getting disrupted, a crowd of harrowed passengers could be seen at the terminals — anxiously waiting for information on their flights.

A passenger onboard a SpiceJet flight to Jaipur said her flight, which was scheduled to take off at 7.15 am, remained on the taxiway till 9 am. “The airline made us wait for two hours inside the aircraft, without providing any information on when it will finally take off. I had a meeting scheduled for 11 am, which I had to postpone,” said Anjali Sharma, a hassled passenger.

The situation was worse for those whose connecting flights were cancelled. The connecting flight of a group of Chandigarh-bound passengers from Bangalore via Delhi was cancelled. It was only after five hours that the airline acceded to provide the group with a coach to Chandigarh.
