A love triangle appears to be the motive behind the murder of a 26-year-old woman on Thursday in Ghaziabad. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) ASP Anoop Kumar Singh confirmed that the woman was killed due to a love triangle. Police has identified the killers who were hired to eliminate her.
It has been revealed that the woman was dating two persons and she was murdered by hired killers after one of the men took offence to her relationship with another man.
“The probe is moving in the right direction and her killers will be brought to justice soon,” said a police officer involved in the investigation of this sensational murder that took place in full public view.
The officer however, refused to share more details as disclosing the identities of the two persons with whom she was in relationship, as that would hamper probe. Police said the woman identified as Riya Chakraworty was riding her scooty towards her residence in Kanha complex when two criminals fired two shots on her from very close range on the main Wazirabad Road near Karan gate police post and were also able to escape unchallenged.
Police was immediately informed by the locals and they rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
The doctors found one bullet lodged in her chest and one had pierced through her abdomen.
Preliminary investigation revealed that she was living alone in her Kanha complex apartment in Sahibabad. After migrating from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand, she was married to one dog breeder Jag Pravesh Panwar in 2011 in Delhi and had started living in Sahibabad. A girl was born to them on March 11, 2012.
A police officer said her husband committed suicide on May 11, 2015 and her daughter was being taken care by her father-in-law.
Her father-in-law Chap Singh Panwar lodged a complaint with the police against unidentified persons for the murder.
